Friend Lonely

Saturday afternoon i was surprised that WZ asked me out to watch the movie " Hill have eye" at Shaw. WZ has married a Vietnamese wife and his wife is already 5 month pregnant. Last Thursday his wife has flied back to Vietnam due to her brother injure his eye. WZ unable to flied with his wife due to work commitment. WZ wife not around and only back on Wednesday so he feel lonely and called me and Anthony out to accompany him. After some chat, WZ say last month his wife went for a check up and suspect the baby has down syndrome. So his wife went for further investigation and luckily is only a false alarm but it has cost him $650 medical fees. At the same time the KK hospital also got package of 10 time check up costs $480. It is not easy to have a baby in Singapore. Everything need money.

BiShan Campus

Today go to BiShan Campus, the second stop to promote the cyber wellness program. The theme " Be aware, be responsible". I am incharge of the transportation to bring students safety from MacPherson to Bi Shan for the talk. There is some miss calculation in the transportation time. It takes 0.5 hours from MP to BS. That is not my fault as the in charge that book the transport make the mistake. Overall the program is a successful one and the students is aware that they are the one who responsible for the cyber thing.

Have received promotion letter from citibank. This letter seem like a time sharing program which i have attend in few years ago which they will selling their resort membership using time sharing program. Attending the talk is a very stressful and time consuming. Divorce

During the In Camp Training, I was surprised when Wong told me that he was divorced. Wong was married with a Thailand Chinese girl. He knew this girl when he was in Thailand training. The girl family was doing the noodle business and everyday he went there to eat the noodle. After one year, Wong applied for approval to get marriage with the girl. They were living happily for 7 years. The starting fire point started after Wong left the airforce and join the private company which required him often went to overseas to work. His wife was lonely at home and hence and bad company. Eventually one day, his wife went back to Thailand and refused to return home after several call from home. So they signed the divorced agreement and their daughter belong to his wife.
His wife knew a Thai guy and they stayed together. After few years, the guy need money and his wife use her daughter to exchange the money she need. So now the daughter is with Wong and Wong also know a lady. Hopefully they can live happily.
So the show on the TV is real. Overseas working indeed can cause a disaster to marriage. Lonely can make a human do some weird thing that beyond human control.

IPPT 18 Apr

Yesterday very early went to bed at 830pm because today having IPPT. This morning wake up at 330am, went to toilet and continue with my sleep till 530am. Wake up feel head very giddy, spinning, with this condition i got a feeling today will fail.
Taking my breakfast and out of the home at 615am. I need to report to TAB which is near Jalan Bahar at 720am. Reached BoonLay station and exit in the wrong direction causing a delay but fortunately able to catch the 172 bus in time. In the bus i saw one NSF which is so fat that he one person is being occupied almost the bus seat. The person that sat beside him unable to tolerate the squeeze, finally decided to stand. When i saw this i begin to woder why the fatty soldier did not care about his diet. Don't he know that his BMI is very high and alot of illness is associate with the fat in his body.
When i reached TAB at 720am, i need to undergo a very tight security check. They check on my SAR 100 only because i am reporting only in PT attire which is T-shirt and short that show 90% of my sexy leg with wallet and key chain in the pocket. I left my hand phone at home because the camera phone is not allow in the camp if not it has to be deposited in the guardroom which is 200m away from the main gate.
After the gate, went to the gym to mark attendance and took the number tag. Over there already saw a long queue of all the ICT and no-ICT NSmen. Met alot of my ex air force friend and we started to chat. The IPPT started at 8am. The PTI, conducting officer, supervising officer and medic all need to brief on the rule, regulation and safety thing. After that the PTI detailed our team to go for the board jump first.
I able to score well in all station except for chin up only get D. The last station is 2.4Km run. The route in TAB changed again but it is better than the last year 2.4km route. This year i score 12.08 as compare to last year 13.15. Overall i have passed IPPT and can relax till next year.

Generation Gap

During the BBQ, Winnie mentioned that she and CW already stay together (have not marry) and her parents know that they are together without any objection was a shock on me. CW sometime will stay in Winnie house and parents never nagged at them and both of them are under 21. Is this a new generation thinking and behaviour ? They don't mind in staying together without getting marry.
In my generation, the parents will always advise us not to get body contact with girls and the girls need to know how to protect themselves. But now seem that pre-marriage sex is acceptable within the teenagers. I never make any comments on this but give my best wish to her and hopefully she not regret on the decision she made.

BBQ

Yesterday went to downtown east to attend a BBQ organised by 0407 cohorts that graduated in Apr 06. I was their CA and had attended 2 times BBQ, one in last year after their last exam and one is yesterday. Winnie is the organiser and she told me that now then she know that ITE certificate is useful in applying the job. Recently she has applied an admin job in shipping company, but there are 3 to 4 other applicants. She thought that she has no more chances but in the end she is the only one that get employed and the reason is she has the ITE certificate. She indirectly thank me that given her the chances to complete the course. It is because during her study, she intended to quit the course, i as the CA has to counsel her, need to know the reason, do logic analysis and explain to her that the ITE certificate is useful in her future career. At that time she did not believe but now she do. Quite happy she can find such a good job and the company welfare is good. The company provide free breakfast, lunch and tea break plus in the past history the company had given minimum 3 months bonuses and highest is 8 months.

Second Chance

Everyone will make a mistake and need others to give them a second chance to amend it. Today receive a sms indicate that J is in 24 months probation. Before he got this sentence by court, he already been retained in the remand prison for 3 weeks. It will be a nightmare to him being staying in the cell for so long. His parents and lawyer already have prepared for the worst but in the end J is given a second chance to amend his mischief behaviour and serious offences that he had make.
He had committed a few very serious offences during the last December vacation, steal motorcycle stickers, assault foreign workers and break into secondary school to steal stationary and uniform. He has confessed all the offences in front of me after being retained by the police for a week and released after bill out waiting for the court sentence. He indicated that he did not physically involve but just stand aside to watch his ex-secondary friend doing. He wanted me to help him to write a good report on his behaviour in school.
Last week a probation officer called me and asked for my verbal report on J behaviour. I just stated all the facts and in fact he is quite a responsible, good leadership and receive the merit award for his good academic result. He also told his story to his classmates and advise them not to do any silly things. I think with all my positive and strong statement partially help him to get a lighter sentence. Hopefully he could turn over a new leaf.

Cash Converters

This afternoon brought 8 old computer games with package, 3 black waist pouch and few soft toys to Jurong East Cash Converters there to exchange for some cash. Guess how much they worth ? 1 PC game with CD only worth $1, the black waist bag only $0.50 and the soft toys is worthless. Overall the shop gave me $10 just enough for me to cut my hair.

I always remind my family members not to buy things due to temptation, cheap or group pressure (see alot of people buying they also wanted to buy and feel that if they do not buy will lose out). All the things that they buy may not be useful or use in the home. It may just put there to collect dust. In the end, most of them are throw away. Luckily there is a cash converters shop around to re-cycle the unused things. The PC games, my brother-in-law bought alot of flight simulation, city siam 2000, theme park simulation, all of them are new and the packages not open, but he does not play due to too time consuming and gave it to me. I also not interested in the game and put aside for 2 years to collect dust. The waist pouch and soft toys are bought by mum and sisters during the Sales due to cheap, cheap and cheap but in the end also not used for 1 year. Worst now the soft toy cannot recycle, need to thing of a way to dispose them.
